COOLRUNNINGS - Thunderbirds

Just bought COOLRUNNINGS’ debut album, Dracula Is Only The Beginning, and im decidedly impressed and satisfied. It’s really got some sweet tunes on it. This song Thunderbirds has a catchy little jitter riff and a funny 80’s alt rock style chorus. The rumbling and rolling drums really help drive the track forward. Other notable tracks on the album are Dracula Is Only The Beginning, Brunettes and Jesse.

It feels like a really eclectic album with quite a diversity of track style. It really reminds me of something and i want to say the new The Strokes album Angels… But im not sure if its really that, there is a bit of a Surfer Blood vibe in there i feel too. Anyway, its well worth a listen. Ill probably end up including something from this album on this years summer compilation. Cheers x
